Empire Awards 2014
The Jameson Empire Awards 2014 were held in London on Sunday 30th March and were attended by the following members of The Hobbit cast: Richard Armitage, Adam Brown, Aidan Turner and hosted by James Nesbitt. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug had the most number of nominations with seven as reported by the BBC News website. They awards are voted for by fans not by the film industry. Richard Armitage was nominated as Best Supporting Actor, but Michael Fassbender took the award. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug won Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy film and Richard spoke on stage with his fellow cast mates to accept the award. Richard also went on stage to present the Best Female Newcomer award.
