I went to see the first Hobbit film with my 15 year old grandson. All through the film I thought I new the person playing Thorin, but could not think who. The only thing I new was what a fantastic actor ( whoever he was). At the end of the film (the credits)there the name Richard Armitage played Thorin. The only time I had seen him before was in the Vicar of Dibley. As long as RA his acting he's happy that is the person he is. Hope he stays as he is, he is a lovely person.

Agree about the leading man roles. Also thought he would make a great James Bond

I'm sure Richard thinks very deeply about which projects are right for him and he has had a variety of characters but I do agree his voice and persona are wonderful for romantic roles..the ideal leading man. :)

I do agree with Adela to some degree. I don't think that Robin Hood was a mistake, but I do think that RA could be more careful in the roles he chooses because he seems to be in a lot of extremely violent movies and his characters always has a weapon in their hands. He could end up type casting himself. I would like to see RA portray a wider range of characters. I have to admit that after RA finishes filming The Hobbit I will be very disappointed if he ends up doing something like Spooks or Strike Back again. I would like to see RA in a romantic comedy or a dramatic performance that is not steeped in violence.

I'm sure there is a lot of care taken into consideration with any role that is offered, it'll be fascinating to see what follows after the Hobbit. Thank you very much for your comment.

I think Richard is a great actor. However, he really must be careful the part that he chooses. He should be making more leading roles and serious projects. I rather to see him making low budge films that a ridiculous American Action movie. He is the representation of a great, natural and professional English actor. Thanks God he never be one of hollywood starts but an unforgettable artist! Robin Hood was a mistake for someone of his calibre. Please, be more careful in the future!
Colin Firth is a good example of someone who chooses his project really careful and he also is a great actor!

Thanks for your comment, I do not share your views, especially about Robin Hood as I adore the role of Guy of Gisborne. I'm sure Richard does not expect everyone to enjoy every role he plays but I respect his decisions and enjoy watching his career, long may it continue to rise.
