Rose: re strike back

I just Finished rewatching Strike Back Series 1 . It's an amazing Television production. It blows me away every time I watch it. Flawless acting from all involved, beautiful character evolvements. Excellent scripting, stunning cinematography, far superior to most other productions in the same genre. How was it regarded in the UK? In Australia it seems to have been put on as an afterthought as lead up to The Hobbit to hint at RA's skills.

On the whole, it was received very well and Richard's performance was applauded. Info on Wiki here and you can read Strike Back reviews here on this site (scroll down for earlier reviews).

Maraclea: autographed photos

Hi to all you RA fans out there! thanks so much Ali & gang for your hard work.. i'm enjoying the site more each day, it's amazing how you keep us posted, and give us so much to look forward to! One quick question (and i apologize if it was asked before): has anyone here written to the agency to get a signed autographed photo?? and if so, do you just ask for anything or can you send a particular photo for RA to sign? VERY curious to know, seeing he "takes care" of us so well!! Hugs to all, and thanks again for such wonderful site!!

Oh yes lots and lots of people have written to his agents, including myself. You can send a particular photo or ask Richard to send you one, it's up to you. Please send postage if you can. Have a look at the comments at the bottom of the FAQ page for feedback from other fans about writing to Richard at his agent's address.

Thanks for dropping by!

Rose: looks after fans

Re: the comment about looking after fans. I interpreted that as relating to his always aiming to be polite and accomodating.e.g. Signing autographs and having pictures taken without grumping or wincing....though as I myself am generally a hermitycrankypants, unlike Mr Armitage I don't know if I would cope as graciously with such a high level of adulation, even if it is from a well educted respectable fanbase. So kudos to him for managing that side of things so brilliantly :) and big Kudo to you Ali for continuing to manage this site. You are definitely looking after the fans :)

Oh I'm not sure I do that but thank you Rose and your interpretation makes a lot of sense :)

Laura: Popcorn Taxi pre Q&A Interview

Thanks Ali for posting that great interview that took place before the Q&A session in Sydney. One of my favourites out of the recent ones I have read. Some great answers. He really is so self-deprecating, saying that his first instinct is to think there must be something wrong with a part if it is offered to him. He really has no idea how good an actor he is. He was so lovely about his fans as well. I got a warm fuzzy feeling when he said that he tries to look after us.

Yes I'm a little confused by that 'look after us' comment but pleased obviously, I spoke about it with a friend on twitter this morning. As for the self-deprecation, it is amusing, and very British! Great interview, always a pleasant surprise to get some new questions after all the numerous interviews.

Gloria: The Hobbit Clip

Hi Maraclea, I saw that same clip. What a treat to hear RA speak in the native tongue during the Powhiri ceremony. Michele-Anna: Speaking of Robin Hood, that I've yet to see, is this a connection? I live on a street called Locksley as in Sir Robert Locksley aka Robin Hood that RA stars in.

Michele-Anna: Thank you!

Hello Ali, I have never heard of Richard Armitage until I saw The Hobbit on an airplane on my way home from a trip in the Caribbean. OMG! I fell in love with Thorin's character. I wanted to learn more about this actor and found your site. Now I’m playing catch-up with Mr. Armitage’s career. I have just finish watching North & South…WOW! That voice, that face and the character portrayal… Whooooaahh!!! Now for my weekend pleasure…. A Robin Hood marathon… Thank you for hosting this great site! Cheers!

Hi Michele-Anna

It's always lovely to hear from new fans and I'm glad you started with the one that started the 'Armitage Army': North and South. He's also fantastic in Strike Back, Spooks (MI-5 seasons 7-9), Sparkhouse and The Impressionists, to name a few.

Have fun watching all those!

Maraclea: RA - The Hobbit clip (Making Of)

first and foremost i love your work!! congrats and many thanks!! question: have you (of course you have!) seen the clip of the "Blessing of the Stage" (the Powhiri Welcome Ceremony)? it's a short clip "hidden" in a long documentary about The Hobbit.. just wondering cause you guys do a fantastic job but obviously can't get EVERYTHING out there related to RA, and i believe he does play an important part in it, as main speaker! :) thanks for all your work and dedication!!!

Hi Maraclea

Thank you for visiting the site. The Powhiri ceremony and other videos relating to the Hobbit are on the Hobbit Videos page on this site. Click on the 'Powhiri Ceremony' link near the top of the page to jump to that section.
